Ok, everybody. Listen up. The government is once against sticking their nose where it does not belong. The "Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record Of Sale Act Of 2009 (HR 45)" is up for vote in the House Of Representatives. Under this act, any and all Americans who even OWN a firearm would require a license to even have it. This is part of what led to the formation of Hitler's WW II Germany.
Urge your representative to vote against this bill. It is infringing on our right to privacy at the very least. If you have no reputation or history of violent offenses, it is none of the government's business whether or not you own a firearm. If we let them get away with this, what else will they try?
Even if you don't care about this issue, or think it is a good idea, consider this. Criminals will get firearms whether they can license them or not. And then what will you do when an "unlicensed" firearm obtained by a criminal still manages to affect you or someone in your life?
I have also separately blogged a letter sent to my representative about this bill. Have a read, I think a lot of people would find it interesting and even entertaining.
